My sister has no transportation to take her cat to the vet. She lives several states away so I'm no help. She says he won't leave the bathroom and won't eat. She's scared to death and has no idea what to do. She's afraid he may have eaten something he shouldn't. Does anybody have any suggestions at all I can pass along to her.

There really isn’t anything she can do other than to get him veterinary care. Can she take an Uber or ask a neighbor for a ride?

Hi. Is this a new cat that your sister recently got? If that were the case, the situation may be a bit less dire. If that is not the case, she really needs to solicit the help of a friend/neighbor/transportation service to enable her to take the cat to the vet.

I too would ask a friend or hire an Uber driver as this could be pretty much anything. Another option would be looking to see if there's a mobile vet in her area that would be able to see him.

Uber has an option for pets if you need it. Is the litter box in the bathroom? Is the cat new? Is there a dog in the house? How old is the cat? Is the cat lying down on its side, like it's sick or crouching with its feet tucked under?

Any update for us?
Thank you to everyone who replied. Unfortunately, this isn't my sister's cat (Lucifer), it is a friend who she is living with. My sister did everything she could to get them to take Lucifer to the vet (including offering to pay, and even I offered to pay), but they just shrugged it off. We think Lucifer is okay, because he ate and drank quite a bit two days ago. The complication now is he has probably gotten out. Yesterday they looked everywhere in the house and were concerned that he might have died somewhere. However, one of them said they saw him by the door and then somebody else left after that. but they can't find him. They are all looking

Yes these people are totally irresponsible and my sister would not be staying there if she had any other choice. It is a long story. They have several cats and a couple dogs, and my sister loves all of them. This is tearing her up (and me too even though I have never met the kitty). I'm just praying they find him and he is okay.

There is nothing to say except that it is very kind of you and your sister to show such concern about Lucifer and the other pets in the household.

New update: He has been seen! But they couldn't get him to come to them last night. But at least we know he is alive, and they are going to keep trying to get him. Fingers crossed.

He's home! Helping my sister with whatever she is doing.
