Cat won't come near me

So I have been giving him pills for an illness and after I had been giving him the pills his behavior was normal.

However, today after giving him a pill shortly after he vomited bile, he doesn't seem to want to come near me.

So I need to know if this is just because he now associates me getting on the floor near him with the pill or if this change in behavior might be because he is feeling worse. 

Help!  My vet is out of the office today.  I am actually more concerned about his change in behavior.

what have you been giving him? and for how long? and for what condition?

is he still eating and drinking ok?

Maybe you can wear gloves when you give him pills now so that he associates gloves with pills instead of you.

If he's drinking and eating okay, if all those answers to @detmut's questions are good, then I'd give him a day or two to calm down. Otherwise, I would call the vet when they're back in office or find another vet to call.
