My cat is a snowshoe breed and I know this breed is vocal and needs attention(my girl is a total drama queen lol) well lately as soon as I go to bed she will go to another room and yowl like she’s lost in the woods! I’ll call her to me and she’ll run over looking distressed then run away! Last night she did it three times. I don’t understand! I play with her at least twice a day, she gets fed before bed and she gets constant attention. Why do cats do this?

Some cats are nighttime and sometimes even day time yowlers. It doesn’t really mean much, maybe asking “are you there” but sometimes it feels they just like the sound of their own voice. I don’t think your is distressed but just having a vocal variation of the zoomies . Mine does the same.

How old is your cat? If she is much over ten years old, she may be experiencing a bit of cognitive decline, which is not uncommon in older cats. Hekitty yowls like that sometimes. I answer her with "I'm right here" and she calms down.
