My cat has vomited bloody liquid for two times in 10 hours. And she is not eating but acting normal. She is drinking water though. There's no diarrhea.
Actually for the last two days my health is not good. I have fever and gastrointestinal upset. Did I pass anything to her?
Yesterday night the vet clinics were closed. I couldn't find a vet. I will take her to the vet today . What should I ask the vet to look for?
I posted the pics. Please check it . The first one is yesterday night and the second one she thrown up now.

Hi. Sorry to hear from you again under these circumstances. I can't imagine that you gave her any illness. Vomiting with blood in it is a sign of something going on in the upper intestinal tract, usually the stomach or above.

The only thing I know to tell you is to think of things going on with her before this began - going outside and getting into something she shouldn't have. That could be from something she ate that has disrupted her stomach or her esophagus. The only positive thing is that the last vomit is much less blood colored than the first one.

I wish I knew of something more to tell you.

As always, please keep us posted.

My cats are all totally indoor cats and she generally don't eat or chew anything other than the food I give her.
I have other cats as well. They didn't catch anything

My boy had a very similar incident in late July but he had also lost appetite and was lethargic.
In his case it was likely gastroenteritis and he was prescribed 3 kinds of meds and recovered quickly. SAA (biomarker for inflammation) in blood test was elevated and ultrasound detected inflammation around his liver and stomach. I still don't know what caused it. Maybe he has underlying illness that has not been detected...

Today morning when I am feeding the cats.. She asked for food. I was afraid if she vomits again that might irritate her stomach again. So i gave her ondansetron 1 mg.( I called the vet. He told me to give it). She ate food. I think her appetite is ok now.

The vet gave him an anti-diarrhea med, Pepcid (famotidine) that decreases stomach acid production and suppress nausea, and Mosapride to promote the GI movement for 3 days. At the vet he also received 3 injections of these meds and sq fluid because he was dehydrated. I took him to the regular vet 3 days later for more comprehensive testing but they arrived at the same diagnosis. They didn't prescribe Pepcid saying that decreasing stomach acid in cats was not very meaningful, so I asked for Cerenia (maropitant) instead which is an anti-vomiting med just in case. They said gastroenteritis would heal within a week. I would recommend a blood test including SAA.

When my boy had gastroenteritis, he got a B12 shot, fluids, an antibiotic, an anti-nausea med, and a short course of steroids.
