We did try multiple litters. You're likely right, although the way the recipes are formulated they're supposed to specifically help.
I apologize, but did you say you'd tried different litters and boxes?

First was a clay. We attempted to use kitty attractant for awhile and that didn't work. We then switched to the full blown kitty attract already mixed in with no luck.
Then we went to grass seed which we are currently using. Love it, but yea hasn't solved the issue.
We tried switching a box to the pellet stuff, the wood pine I believe, used attractant and both cats ignored it.
I sometimes wonder if it is the litter since she excessively paws after getting out, but idk what other kind to try, especially since she refused to use it.
5 or 6 now. The issue started 6 months after we got her, so she was about 3 when she started doing this. How old is your kitty?
