OK, my supermarket has 9-Lives as well as Friskies, and I understand that those are produced by entirely different manufacturers. Worth a try. Maybe next week. I think I'll just press "reset" by keeping him on solid food for a week. Gave him a half-day dose of solid food this evening, in place of the wet food, and he gobbled it up. Was he saying "thank you!"?
Certainly they are given water with their food, but wet food better ensures that they are well hydrated. You think dry food is bad? Ever look at the ingredients in most wet foods? I go by the nutrient assessment, and not the smell or the feel.
