Cat skull mystery

What would cause the postorbital to be fused together with the jugal. Disclaimer pic is google image showing what a normal cat skull looks like. My cats is fused together, im not comfortable showing her image. Ive never come across another cat skull image like it and its a complete mystery why.

Is it only on one side or on both sides of the skull? Are there any signs of traumatic injury? How old was the cat?

My first thoughts are that it could be bony changes due to a healed fracture or arthritis. Or possibly a birth defect which led to a smaller gap between the two parts of the skull.

Only on one side. She passed at 17 was euthanised on vets recommendation when she had stroke like symptoms vet said was caused from a brain tumour. She said she could tell by looking at the pupils if it was a stroke or a brain tumour. There was no swelling anywhere whatsoever the day she passed. Acted still like a kitten playing happy as larry one second next had the stroke like symptoms. The rest of the skull is perfectly normal. Had her since 6 weeks old and definitely no head injuries. She was an indoor cat. Didnt think about birth defect thankyou for that suggestion

Yep was over a yr ago but still in disbelief as she was so happy running up and down the stairs chasing im going to guess a little moth or sometimes i wonder was it my mums spirit knowing what was about to happen. She poked her head around the corner and looked at me with the most content happy face and then continued her playing then no less than 5 minutes later she couldn't stand up without plopping over and her neck was twisted rnd and seemed intensly hungry all of a sudden. Eyes were open but vet said she wasnt there anymore.
