My 14 year old cat has recently started looking into the shower for hours on end (when it's not on) and is now sitting in it for periods of time. This only started a couple of weeks ago and I'm not sure why. It's winter here in NZ so she's not too warm and she has fresh water daily so I don't think she's seeking moisture. Any ideas??

Hmm... Might wanna take her to the vet. She might be getting a little senile, or something similar. They might wanna check out some of her cognitive reactions.

I second the need to take your senior kitty to the vet, but also ask is her "fresh" water supply in a bowl or do you have a running source of water for her. Many cats do not like stale water in a bowl and would rather drink from a leaky tap.
