Cat Refusal to eat

Don’t syringe her water if it stresses her out. You run the risk of aspiration pneumonia by doing that and that would be very bad.

I told the vet l was doing it. They said it was fine. But l will be careful to admin it slowly. They suggested l bring her back for fluids. Thank you

A little update.
My local vet reached out to the vet hospital and got approval to give me medication.I will probably have to pick it up tomorrow morning. It is called mirataz. Gosh it's so expensive but necessary.
Tonight, mylee has been acting very normal. She wanted to go outside for a little bit, so I let her. she only stays in the backyard we have it fenced in, so she just wanders around. I watched her closely to make sure that she wasn't going to eat anything.Of course, she kept trying to eat the grass.
But she happened to eat a full sheba meat stick that l broke up plus several treats. I will take the small miracles! I hope once we get this food stimulant in her that she will start to eat more. If not, then I will have to move on to the next steps. I definitely do not think that she is really sick like with a disease or cancer. I honestly do believe that she is stressed. And I just have to get her back on track. I did order her a pheromon's calming collar.I remember using them once before.I don't know if they actually work, but it was worth a shot. Cant hurt.

Yes to small miracles! And to anti-stress measures, too. We use various calming supplements for our cats and they can really help.

I'm very sorry that Mylee's difficulties are bringing back old memories -- that can be especially difficult.

We got the meds. 5 min after applying to her ear she went in kitchen and ate a small amount.
But still not drinking. So we will keep watching.

Mirataz can be adjusted to a dosage as needed. The recommended dose is a 1.5" ribbon on an ear daily. Sometimes that is appropriate, other times it can be a bit too much. It all depends on the cat and you can monitor how she responds over time. When my cat was on Mirataz, she really only needed 0.75" every other or third day. But, she was on it due to her kidney disease, so every case and reason is also different. Therefore, if you notice she becomes a bit too ravenous or acts hyper, you can talk to the vet about lowering the dose a bit.

Yes, Pancreatic snap test was negative.

Keep in your back pocket that that can produce a false negative. IF needed they can do a blood test. I have two with it. On our snap tests one was negative yet an ultrasound showed clear inflammation and the other was positive but nothing on an ultrasound. Just something to keep in mind just-in-case.

Completely understable.

There is a blood test for pancreatitis called feline pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity, or fPLI. Just another something to keep in your back pocket if ever needed, Which I hope it never is.

Yes, ultrasounds can be pricey.

I'm glad to hear she's eating well and acting normal. It's possible she had a fur problem or even constipation since they can cause some of the same symptoms Mylee has had while also not making a cat seem completely sick. Even if she does bounce back soon and seem completely back to normal, though, keep a very close eye on her so you can talk with the vet soonest about new symptoms and measures for stopping (or at least easing) them. We've found that digestive issues take lots of trial and error to treat, making it especially good to start as early as possible.
