For those who take their feline friends out for walks, is this something that your cat expects every single day? Or do they see it as a once in a while treat/vacation? I was thinking about training my cat to accept a harness and leash (which I imagine will be a long, arduous process), with the goal of taking out to the park on the weekend. It might be a little too urban to take her on the sidewalks here daily.

Since cats are creatures of habit, would taking her to the park once a week (and keep her indoors for the other 6 days) bring about more anxiety than pleasure?

I have never walked a cat on a leash, but have owned three who were trained (when I was home watching) to sit outside on a long tieout in the shade. They absolutely expected it every day but I was happy to comply.
