they didn’t mention anything about inflammation but they did prescribe an anti inflammatory that he took for three days. I can get some more gabapentin tomorrow. (It’s almost 11pm where I’m at right now).More gabapentin, or something else to help with anxiety. Can you get some more gabapentin, sooner rather than later?
When they did the ultrasound, did any one mention inflammation? He might need anti-inflammatories, and perhaps anti-spasmodics. The thing is even if he had no blockage before, if he is inflamed enough it can cause at least a partial blockage and pain.
Pay serious heed to the information above about cystitis.
just stressing me out. I can’t just shove him in a carrier and rush to the vet every time he makes a noise when he pees - it’s not practical, and it’s very stressful for him which could potentially make things worse.
I mean, I’m just confused. If this ends up being some type of cystitis that is reoccurring, how do I know it’s not a life threatening blockage or a uti every single time? What if this happens once or twice a month? You know what I mean? I can’t afford to bring him twice a month to an emergency vet every time I think there is a problem, only for it to be inflammation. How do others with cystitis cats do it?
