Hello,

I adopted a 2 yo female cat a month ago and everything has been going well. But it has been 3 nights in a row where she is just meowing for 30 minutes straight in the middle of the living room at 3 am (I don't have a door in my room so she can come inside whenever she wants).

I know that she's hungry when she meows at me at 6 am, but is it normal to meow at nothing?? She was not a very vocal cat when I first got her. Also, she's is spayed.

Thanks!

Should I be concerned and visit the vet? I peeked at her the first night, she notices my presence but I am ignored and she just keeps meowing at nothing. So when I am woken up by her, i just try to go back to sleep.

During the day she behaves as usual.

No, wouldn’t be concerned. She may still be feeling a little unsettled or looking for former pals, or she may just be one of those cats who like the sound of their own voice in the middle of the night. I would keep doing what you have been doing and ignoring it so she doesn’t start using it as an attention getting device.
