Hey all, I have an issue that I desperately need fixing so I can get some sleep at night. My 1 1/2 year old cat is really, really good at keeping me awake at night. She gets into things she normally wouldn't get into during the day, because she knows it's making me mad and I'll wake up and give her attention. I've already read the articles on ignoring your cat but I can't ignore destruction.
She loves to sit in windows, which is perfectly fine, but at night, she tears at my curtains and pulls them off the clips. I purposely bought curtains in my apartment because I can't stand the sound of the plastic blinds when the window is open. I'm a very, very light sleeper which doesn't help this at all!
I'm not too confident on deterring sprays as most websites have reviews that say their cat doesn't respond to them at all. Has anyone had any sort of success with sprays? Or a fragrance that their cat hates? I've tried giving her night time toys to play with but considering I'm at work all day, she wants to play when I want to sleep. I've also locked her out of my room and that resulted in torn up carpet so I'm in desperate need of a tip or two!
