Cat lost

Hi

I’m at wits end our male ginger cat is missing for 6 days now.
He is 3 years old not spayed.
due to Covid 19 we in South Africa are on lockdown. So going out to look for him is hard.
We have put noticed on out local WhatsApp groups , Facebook pages. Friends and family in area.
we call his name a lot.
On one side of property is the stores road etc
On other is out mango orchard with a stream.
Advice, message of hope would be appreciated.

Hi. An intact male is out hunting for a female. If you can go outside and call to him, the best times are at disk and right before dawn - but do it as often as you can otherwise. Take a bag/can of his favorite food/treats and shake it while calling - and stay for at least 1/2 hour waiting for him to respond. You can also try to leave a piece of your worn, unwashed clothing (and/or something with his scent on it) outside near either your front door or where ever it is that he escaped from your home. Some people leave a cat's litter box outside, and others leave food. It all depends on your individual circumstances.

There might be some tips in this article (see link below), but a lot of it is not likely to apply in your situation.

There is a good possibility that once he gets done 'sowing his wild oats' he will return to you. Let's hope so!!!

DO remember to check with local animal shelters and vets, and do so at least once a week.
