My cat eats breakfast and dinner (dried food) and then I will find she has broken into the bathroom cupboard where I keep her food and she rips the bag open and goes to town. It's been a few times now that I've caught her doing this. She also begs me for my food or eat scraps left out on the counter. Why is she gorging herself after eating, also she pukes when she hasn't eaten anything.

I find that most cats will try to eat as much as possible and often resort to tearing open food and treat bags. I suggest you place the bag of food inside another container, either a pet food storage container or something similar that is hard to open for the cat but not you.

Check out the article from TCS These Cat Food Storage Hacks that will Keep Kibble Fresh

How much dry food are you feeding her daily, as well as the kcal (calorie) content of the food?

See the article How Much Food Should I Feed My Cat for more info.

You asked a really smart question here. Back in 2012, we had an adopter return his cat to the rescue because of his inability to eat. The cat had severe stomatitis. The foster took him back, of course. But while speaking with the guy, he mentioned his two cats often quarreled over food. He told us he opened ONE 5 oz. cat of wet food for them to share! We then understood why the cat was so thin and why they fought over the food. Still feel bad for that black cat to this day. :ohwell:So how much food a cat is being provided is an important question, along with the animal protein content. Empty calories can leave them hungry. IMHO. (And sometimes in cat rescue we forget to advise adopters about how much to feed and how often. We assume peeps know.)

If she's doing this overnight, have a good play session with her before bed, then feed her a serving of wet food.
