Are they sliding screens? There might be a way to tighten them.
The sliding screen on my patio door has a tension adjustment so that the screen will stay in place while you slide it open or shut. It just takes a screwdriver. But, since there are different types of sliding screens with different ways to adjust them, I can't tell you much without looking at them.
You could call your landlord and have them send the maintenance man over to help you.
Definitely play the "I'm afraid my cat will fall out" card and double down with, "I would be so heartbroken if anything bad happened!"
