Cat had kittens last night and there's a red lump the size of a pea coming out of the umbilical area!

I caught her chewing/yanking very vigorously when doing the cord/placenta. Didn't think much of it at the time as all seemed well. Cleaned up and came to this a couple of hours later wtf is it? Is it a hernia or something?

It looks like it could be either a hernia or a small portion of the intestines was pulled out when mom cat was yanking.

Please see a vet for help, as the kitten might need an antibiotic or a stitch.

Got a vet apt booked thankfully kitten seems to be doing well otherwise just

Got an appointment booked, she seems otherwise healthy and PTS is my fear considering how she is feeding well etc.

Unfortunately it wasnt good news. It was a birth defect where his tummy button was too wide they said and allowed for a hernia. He had to be put to sleep as he was too young for surgery and he had the starts of sepsis. I cried the whole way home.

Thank you. I gave him lots of cuddles before his appointment in the waiting room. He knew he was loved and now he's not suffering Its so shit how even doing the right thing hurts. I called him Lazarus before his appointment in the hopes of a miraculous outcome but knew in my gut it wasn't to be.
