My cat Sandy is 15yo.
She was slowing down.
Throwing up.
Crying when going to the box.
Getting skinny.
Before this chinese virus nonsense started, she went to the Vet.
Did a bunch of test, untrasound. But really didn't find anything.
Started B12 shots once a week, and some medicine for Irritable bowel syndrome or ulcerative colitis.
I have to give it to he once a day.
It's a challenge.
But it seems to be working.
Lots of energy.
No throwing up. Unless we feed her to much.
No more crying in the box.
Seems to be gaining weight.
Only part I don't like about it is she gets me up at 5:30 every morning to play.
I can only hope when it get colder, she sleeps in longer.

Its hard when they get older and need help. She's lucky she has you.

I'm going through similar problems - Mogi is 14. She has always been too thin which was camouflaged by a thick coat. Now she has started crying at night and in her sleep. She takes a long time to eat a small amount of food so she's being fed 4 or 5 times a day. The other cats think it's a marvellous idea! The appointment at the vet is on Wednesday. She won't like that at all as she hates being handled. The vet is also very cautious with her. I'll be glad when it's over. Hopefully no dental work or we'll have to go back again!

Glad that Sandy has recovered her high spirits. Mogi was never high spirited although she has her mad moments!

I would be glad there is an improvement. Just love her and get her to eat, don't worry so much about nutrition as to having her eat regularly. If she is waking you up to play, she must feel good!

So Sandy is doing much better.
She still gets me up at 5:30a.
Is eating well, and gaining most of her weight back
B12 shots are once a month now.
Lots of energy.
It seem she did have IBS.
I never knew cats could get it
It your cat is older, getting slower, losing weight, makes noise when going to the litter box.
And the test at the vet can't find anything.
They might have the samething.

Thanks, we need you here! I'm so glad Sandy is doing better, we always feel better when they get back to normal, whatever normal is for a cat!
