Is anyone super frustrated? I can't find Fancy Feast or Medleys! I am trying other flavors and one my cat liked a beef pate from Tiki Cat ate a couple of cans and now refusing the food I bought from Chewy! Ugh! What are people doing? There's no article on suggestions for this frustrating dilemma! Never get your cat get used to one type of food! What will I do if I can't use the food? I could donate and consider it a donation, but could I return somewhere to get some money back? How are people dealing with this? Chewy said they accept returns for a whole year? It gets expensive and the food is still good and the store sells them exactly like we buy them but individually.

Yes, I have. A few are very ridiculous raising its price. I don't feel I should buy from people like that.

He likes mostly tunas and salmon. He seemed to like the pate beef. No chicken or seafood.

Get on the waiting list on chewy. At least you can get a refund if your cat doesn't like it

From where I am, I cannot find a single pouch of Felix wet cat food at both physical and online stores. This is the only food my cats want, and for the past few weeks I have been frustrated, angry and in panic mode because my cats just lick the other food I give them, then strut away. Lately they have been eating mostly kibbles which I do not want them to get used to.

I tried to check if I can get it from overseas but boy! It is 3x more expensive as it includes shipping. I am literally crying.

I did 😭. I wanted to get my cat to eat higher quality food and no dry. A vet recommended this, too. I am working with a holistic specialist who recommended switching to other types of meats as using the same can cause sensitivity. It's so hard to do. I still need to use the ones he likes as he will refuse to eat all day. I am not sure about mixing food with a new one. He still smell the other one and refuse it 😩. I tried raw meat...nope.

I understand your frustration. The canned cat food isles have been looking so empty lately. Here's a couple things I may have found:

Check your local stores (Kroger, Albertsons, Walgreens etc.) delivery options. It's going to vary depending where you are located, but for example when I check my local Ralphs and Walgreens they have at least the single cans in stock.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0828KL4LJ/?tag=thecatsite

This link above has the Tuscany Medley (30 cans) for 27.00 and free shipping. I know that's overpriced, but if you don't have any of the food your cat normally likes left you can perhaps just buy one case as a way to slowly transition them to a new, more diverse (brand) diet.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012KB4X4/?tag=thecatsite

Wild Salmon Florentine Medley 22.80 (free shipping) 24 pack

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0197VK6Q0/?tag=thecatsite

Whitefish/Tuna Medley 24pk 22.36

If you're open to other Fancy Feast flavors (that are not the medley) there are a lot on Amazon that aren't so outrageously priced.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012KCUVO/?tag=thecatsite

Tuna/Mackerel 18.00 24pk

A big problem with fish is that cats like it so much, they often will hold out for it among all other proteins, even though in the wild they were never really meant to consume fish. Transitioning to a variety of different proteins will be good in the long term, it just may take a bit if your cat currently only consumes fish. Additionally, you are correct that chewy will take back any food your cat doesn't like as well as most pet stores. Amazon will if it's through them, but third party sellers may not.

I even tried minnows for treats. Nope. Hope a shelter can use unused treats? Do you know?

Thank you for the links and suggestions. I will try checking Walgreens! I'll try again looking up the links. I am just so tired of the changes and looking for food. Wish I knew about the tuna thing long ago, but I guess that most people do not know.

Sorry, not to triple post but tuna and salmon are seafood? I'm confused here.
Oh I mean things other than tuna and salmon lol like oceanfish or whitefish or shrimps. Are they better than tuna? I can try again a can of each if it's better. Let me know.

Shelters will generally take unused treats if they are sealed. Some will take open ones, it just depends. I'm not surprised your cat doesn't like minnows though. Most cats that aren't used to freeze-dried or raw food will reject these kinds of treats at first.

I'm not a fish expert but I would say most are probably not good to feed consistently. Cats evolved from carnivorous desert dwellers.

Ok, I see the 24 cans. I think I am just so frustrated I don't see things clearly. I need to take a break and try again.
It's okay, I think a lot of us have been feeling the same way lately. Covid and the aluminum shortages have had a big impact on cat food. It's very unfortunate. Hopefully you can find something that works. There are a number of articles/tutorials on introducing a bigger variety of food into your cat's diet that you may find helpful. I would definitely suggest taking it slowly and maybe not start with beef. A lot of cats don't really care for it. You typically find more luck with poultry and rabbit.

This one is mainly referring to kibble but the process is relatively the same.

Jackson Galaxy also has numerous really helpful videos on the topic as well like this one.
