~ Here are some interesting facts about our kitty cats. I was surprised by #5 ...
LOL!! Actually, even though I knew this one, it doesn't stop me from making sure there is a night light or soft light on for Feeby to make her way to the litter box in the middle of the night!!!Hmmm, the "near total darkness" hunting thing makes me wonder. My cats spend their nights in our furnished basement. Its heated and perfectly nice, I don't regard it as any sort of hardship for them. But I've always wondered whether I need to / should leave on a light for them. It gets very dark down there because the windows let in very limited moonlight.
I kind of knew it too, but have always wondered since the basement is darker than the outside would be. We aren't consistent about leaving a light on. No accidents either way, but I wonder if they are fully able to play with each other with no extra light. Not going down there at 3 am to find out lol.LOL!! I always thought of this as a way to check if the human is dead yet. Because it's said they will eat us when that happens..Several nights before I fall asleep, I can feel a gentle brush of whiskers all over my face; Mingo is checking me out.

I've heard that, but I don't believe it. It's more like checking to see if it's you in the dark. If I reach out and stroke him, he curls up right where he is and starts purring.I always thought of this as a way to check if the human is dead yet. I think it depends, I've only met one cat who attempted this out of 13. The person in question was sick and knocked out, the cat truly did attempt to eat them and bit off quite a bit of skin I guess because the person seemed to be dead. I've never met any other cat who did this though.. But I wouldnt put it past mine!I've heard that, but I don't believe it. It's more like checking to see if it's you in the dark. OOP! I already popped the bubble... Seems like it's kind of a pulse or warmth thing and not exactly accurate. Mine has only ever attempted to end my life rather than eat me though.~ I hope they never make a mistake ! `
