Cat coughed up weird worm

Hi there, my cat has coughed up a worm we assume. We found it on the seat she alana us sits so it had to have come from her and was surrounded by hair. It’s unusual looking so we don’t know what we’re dealing with but she’s in great form and eating well.

My best guess would be that your cat has some kind of worms. Take it to,the vet as well as a poop sample and they should be able to identify the parasite and give you the medication to eliminate them.

Thanks very much. The only problem is that it would be very difficult to get a sample. She’s very discreet about going and usually does in the flower bed where we can’t see her

The worm might be enough. Ask your vet.

Put that 'thing' into a glass jar and store in the refridgerator until you can take it to the vet. That way if it is indeed a worm, the cold will slow decomposing. I would NOT wait too long, eg., take your beloved little kitty to the vet along with that sample that you photographed. If you have already discarded the 'thing', then take the photo to show to the vet.
