I've brought in a stray cat into my home 3 weeks ago. He's been living outside as a stray for roughly 2 years, so he's used to being outside 24/7. He enjoys looking out the windows but he always ends up clawing in the window screens which destroys them!

I've tried telling him NO. He knows what it means and stops when I say it. But 2-3 minutes after he starts again...

How can I make him stop??? I can't even open my windows anymore out of fear he'll claw through a screen.

If you have regular windows, you can buy those expandable screens, and double up. This way your cat can still see out, but you save your screens. Plus--no bugs from the holes your cat put in your original screens!!!!

I've tried snapping a dish towel on the window sill right next to him. It startles him, but doesn't discourage him...

The expendable window screen idea sounds like a good idea. Although, I would like to eliminate his window screen clawing behaviour completely.
