Any cat moms/dads out there build their little peanuts a cat catio? I’m moving to Jersey City hopefully within the year and my 6yo is coming with me! She was the neighbor’s cat and spent 90% of her time outside. It scares me when she goes outside because I had one cat who went outside, never came home and we found her body in the side of the ride - she was hit by a car :( Then that cats sister we found outside the backyard door in the middle of the night with her entire stomach ripped open and blood everywhere. Somehow she lived through the night and we were able to get her to the animal hospital just in time.

I’ve been trying to train her to play inside and we play with her constantly and she’s loves it but some days she’s dead set on going outside. We only let her out early in the day and she’ll only go out for an hour or two. And she stays nearby because 9 times out of 10 when I call her name and ring her bell, she’s back home within a few minutes. I’m more concerned with what’s going to happen when we move to Jersey City. I’ve seen these amazing “catio,” which are cat patios. I’d love to have my kitty start using one now and slowly get used to it. Has anyone built any of these? Are they here to make? Does anyone have a catio that they use for their kitties? Any feedback would be great!!!

Catios have become more and more popular with cat owners over the last few years, and they’re a great way to let cats experience the outdoors safely. Here’s an article that will give you more info: Cat Enclosures
