Ceramic and porcelain are ok too except that after washing with mild detergent, remember to rinse well and run or soak in hot water once a day to kill the bacteria that may harbor in hairline cracks that is not visible to hooman eyes. After that, dry well.

My boy has been using ceramics and porcelain plates for his meals.

Of course, stainless steel is best but get a good grade one.

My cat Maggie may have acne under her chin al the way across. She did have dental surgery to remove plaque but she wasn't cut up. Seeing the vet today

She does have acne. It feels like stitching one side below her lip to the other. Antibiotics and wipes

Try cleaning her mouth and whiskers and lips after she finish eating each time. This will also help reduce the chance of getting the acne.
