I know cats can't eat it and it's toxic, but as you can see in the picture he ate a really small piece.
My vets closed, online it says it 5g per kilogram is considered the toxicity amount, my cat is 15lbs so he would of had to have eaten 30g. The piece that was left of what he had taken a bite of wasn't even heavy enough for our scale to read so not even 1g. Will he be okay?

Odds are your cat will be fine, other than maybe a 'stomachache', possibly diarrhea. But, if the amount is as small as you think it is, it probably won't cause any issue. What makes onion toxic is how it can affect their red blood cells, which may not be an immediate result, but wouldn't likely happen if he didn't eat any more than you think he did.

Contact your vet first thing in the morning, or even call an ER vet now, and provide them with the pic and how much you speculate the amount to be, just to be on the safe side.
