Sherbert (16 years old) went to the vet today for an enema. He was constipated and they stuck a tube in him and flushed his bowels out. When he came home he could barely walk and seemed very weak. He's laying down with his eyes open and acting strange. Is this normal? or does he need help quickly.

I would take him in. At his age, you don't want to take chances. Sorry, and he may be ok, but this is troubling to me.

Do you have any idea what it could be? maybe he is just in schock?

He could be in shock and angry at the procedure but weakness, not walking, staring, and being in a prone position is not a good combination.

Is Sherbert doing any better now? Have you called the vet and let them know how he is acting? It's one thing to ask opinions here, but it is crucial to let the vet know as I suspect they will want to take a look at him.

Please let us know what is happening with Sherbert. We're worried.
