I just adopted two six month old sibling kittens that are very frightened. I think they were only in foster care two week and they are terrified of people. The female kitten is aggressive and will bite, hiss or claw if you come near her. The male kitten is docile but very scared and also will not come hear us. They don't come out from hiding until night and then they will eat but they won't let me or my husband get near them at all. I know it's only a few days (we brought them home on Saturday) but I am not sure how to help them become comfortable since they are so scared. We did make the mistake at first try to hold them to calm them and realized that they do not want to be held so now we are not touching them at all. We are coming in every hour or so and talking to them from their hiding places. Are there any other suggestions anyone may have? I'm not concerned about how long it will take for them to adapt rather if it's too late for them to accept human contact. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
