Caring for my son's 2 cats - how will my new cat react?

I offered to take care of my son's two male cats for three weeks. Since then, I have acquired a new two-year-old female cat. I got her from the local animal rescue and she was sharing space with two other cats. She has been with me for about a month and feels at home. I am concerned that it will be too much for her to deal with my son's cats coming to stay for three weeks. Any advice on this would be welcome.

Hi and welcome to TCS. Since your son's cats staying with you is temporary, can you just set up a separate space for them to occupy that does not require interaction? To try to introduce them could take a lot longer than 3 weeks.

Any cat coming into a new home is normally confined to a single room for a while just to get adapted to their new surroundings, a bit at a time, so it would stand to reason that is what you should likely do with your son's cats. Of course, they need all their normal amenities brought with them - food, bowls, litter boxes, bedding, blankets, toys etc. Those would be part of their separate set up. If your son will not be able to come visit them, make sure he leaves you with some worn, unwashed clothing so they have his scent with them in his absence.
