Can my flat-nosed Persian travel ~12 hours on Trans-Atlantic flights and layovers?

My girlfriend and I are planning to move out of the United States at the end of 2025 when I get my degree and find work back in South America, where I'm from. We're planning on moving to Argentina.
I have lots of experience with the flights between North and South America and they can be grueling even for me. I've been really anxious about this lately because we have a Persian cat who we love so much. She's 2 years old and flat-faced like a show cat, really tiny and attached to us more than any other cat I've seen. Leaving her behind is out of the question for us. I'm really worried about her breathing in the cabin (she will obviously not be in the cargo hold) and about the whole day of travel stressing her out. I have a lot of time to plan and make decisions thankfully and don't need to choose right now but my girlfriend and I would be beyond devastated if anything happened to our cat.
Can anybody with experience with this help
me out, give some advice, encouragement or warnings? Thanks.

Hi, do you have a veterinarian who you trust that you can speak with? Also there may be Persian cat clubs or facebook groups who can provide feedback.

Persian On A Flight?
Planning Air Travel with a Persian Cat | PetRelocation

I have only flown a GSD puppy as carry on, so no real experience with a snub nosed pet. The first link from this site brings up some points to consider. One is to make sure that the airline accepts snub nosed pets, as not all do.

I would definitely involve the vet in this, even aside from any necessary documents that you need to fly your cat.

Welcome to TCS! :wave3: Since I also live with a Persian cat and have had 3 others in the past I understand your concern about traveling with this breed. However, I have never personally flown with any of them. Is it possible to get a direct flight instead of a layover? I agree with the above members to consult with your vet regarding your trip back to South America.

I read this article which I thought might have some helpful information for you:
What Travel Conditions are Stressful for My Flat-Faced Cat?
Best of luck, please keep us posted.
