Hi everyone. My cat jumped on a laundry basket which was empty, causing it to tip. I wasn’t sure if she hit her head of not (don’t think she did but I’m a worrier) and I thought I remembered reading somewhere to check for different size pupils and how they react to the light? So I used my phone’s flashlight to check (same size) twice. Then I have wondered if that would damage a cat’s eyes? Like I said, I’m a worrier.

Hi. I doubt that what you did would hurt. I mean if you took flashes multiple times a day for multiple weeks in a row, that might be a difference. Good to know that you found no difference in her pupils. Odds are nothing is wrong, but of course, as you will already do, just keep a watch on her!

Just seconding FeebysOwner FeebysOwner 's reply. It would take many exposures, and for longer than simply checking pupil size to do lasting damage to your cat's eyes. Again, just watch her for 48 hours or so for altered gait, appetite issues, etc.
