My moggy went blind 1 month and 1 week ago. This is something we didn't consider. Is it possible for a cat to go blind from a stroke?

Hi! I've read that hypertension can cause sudden onset blindness, but not necessarily so much a stroke.

How's your baby doing?

Thanks, Furballsmom! My moggy had a very short episode of uncontrollable trembling while sleeping, and now I’m worried sick about whether it was a seizure (Uncontrollable Shivering When Sleeping)
Other than that, he’s doing well.

If you haven’t seen a vet, I would recommend it. Like mentioned above, hypertension is a concern and without proper treatment you cats condition will just continue to deteriorate. If it is hypertension, treatment might be able to help restore some vision too.

Where do you think?
It's not unheard of for people who have had a stroke to have visionary issues along with memory loss so I would imagine a cat isn't much different.

As for trembling while sleeping, it's common for cats to tremble or jerk during REM cycles. I'm not sure but I've never heard of a seizure during sleep except in people with epilepsy. Not to say it doesn't happen though.
