Love it, "gusset cuss word..."
The class taught Magic Loop, so I didn't know any other option, but it's one at a time. I really like it. I don't think I could ever use DPN's. :shocked:
I could never get the hang of the method taught in the sock class, wrap and turn and pick up something or other, I had to go find another method, which was "make a double stitch" and use markers and so on, on Knitting House Square. I ripped out more than once! And they're not real perfect, but they're in my shoes so :lol:.

Any0ne have a good tutorial for English knitting (yarn held in right hand)?
I have been browsing and trying out some videos while awaiting my yarn and this seems to be the closest for me to understand.

In the past I would 'make do' but never as neat on the WS like it should be.
Any PROVED favorite methods of yours would be appreciated. :wave2:

Wish I had some suggestions, but I have never got stranded knitting right! Be int to see how yours goes.

I just love the perfect fit of your sweaters- just my size,room for " the girls" ,not too long and sleeve length

And that's the great part of making your own - store bought they are always to long ,too wide because of the chest and the sleeves are awful.....you make alot of adjustments I'd imagine to custom fit like this,is that right?

Not a lot, no! As I said, this one is rectangular. Only shaping is the sleeve decreases. I removed the shaping in the original pattern; it was one of those that pulls in at the hem ribbing, which I find very unflattering.

One of the things I dislike about top-down in-the-round jumpers is that they're always made to fit bust measurements and don't seem to take into account that one's stomach, hips and backside may well be larger than that (mine are). I always end up needing to do an increase row or even go up a size between the upper and lower half. I wish I had done with the green one I was just working on. It's not tight by any means, but it's more fitted than I expected, and the sleeves aren't really long enough - I'm busy adding 12cm to their length at the moment.

I know exactly what you mean,I don't like the way that looks either- and I'm very picky about sleeve length,I like them a bit longer,onto the hand more

I can't wait until I learn how to do all that- I'm not good at math and it sounds like alot of it to me...yours sweaters always look like they drape perfectly over your body,a flattering fit

Maths is completely beyond me, always was! If I have to do increase rounds I use online knitting calculators. Plug in how many stitches you have, how many you need, and it works it out for you - like, "knit 5, make 1 seven times" or something. Works the same for decreases if you want to space the decreases evenly on a row.

One gal, deb gemmell on ravelry addresses that very thing about modifying to fit.she has sweaater tutorials for top down. I need to mod because I have a 49" bust and a 56" hip!!?? I am shaped like a pear.I use the " how to" instructions from her "Need a circular yoke " book for mods.

So am I! About 45 and 53 here.
I did that fuzzy orange jumper in two sizes and just changed before the armholes (it was bottom up, my preferred method).
