Nope, all safe! It's straight knitting down to the ribbing now - about six inches or so.
I have to ask what you use to take photos? You're photos are AMAZING- such clarity and ultra high definition- every individual hair is so clear.... are you really gold at taking photos or do you have really good camera?You have a really beautiful subject but I think I do too- my photos pale compared to yours!
The good photos are taken on my iPhone, the crappy ones on my iPad. The difference in quality between the devices is very noticeable!
The iPhone's cameras have improved over the years (mine's a 14). Sadly the iPad's hasn't, afaik (and I'm not coughing up for a new one till I absolutely have to).
It's turned really cold today (9C and feels like half that). Ideal knitting-under-supurrvision weather, especially if (fingers crossed) we get rain.

So strange,makes no sense for knitting to be seasonal- it's not like you are outside doing a physical workout or athletics in hot weather..... weird?It's actually even a bit nippy up here

I've still not had my lessons though my dear friend would be very willing except she has Covid! So,we are waiting for her to test negative- it's a shame because she's been knitting up a storm while quaranteening
I knit year round. One can be cool using pima cotton and bamboo fibers for tees and sleeveless shells!. Great time to knit small projects like socks,which i hate to do cause i mess up on the gusset section, hats and mittens.So strange,makes no sense for knitting to be seasonal- it's not like you are outside doing a physical workout or athletics in hot weather..... weird?

Yeah, I got a fair bit done in my week at home. Just a few inches left to do on this jumper now.
I just stumbled on this thread! I've started knitting, just a beginner except for a scarf or so 40 years ago, so I will look through the posts. I'm working on a pair of socks with super bulky merino wool yarn. Plus placemats and a lacy knit vest. Recently for practice it's been hats and scarves and one other pair of socks.

Welcome to the thread! It's always good to have more people joining. I have visions of it becoming as big as the Cats Helping with Yarncraft thread on another site eventually. After all, we have the kitties, and the definition of yarncraft can be pretty flexible. (Is there yarn in the picture? The room? The building? The continent? Yep, that's close enough.)
Just a beginner? Making socks? Geez,I can't make anything but squares,pot holders and made a scarf my friend took from me last week ( she went on a cruise to Alaska) .... she loved it but it was just rows n rows n rows of me practicing and I just tied a knot at the end....3 feet long of a mess imo
I hear you on the socks! In twelve years of knitting I've made ... half a sock. And that was more than enough.
Haha! Well, I took a class in socks and it helped, but it was a real struggle. This is one of the first pair- I have a nice hole at the heel/instep area, my finger visible:
Then the current pair I'm working on- not perfect at the toe. And then this is the pattern I'm using for this pair:
SOCKS ! You are either a sock lover or really detest it. I find that once a sock lover does a few, they are on a roll!
I don't have the patience for socks because when I get to the dreaded gusset, I mess up royally and have to rip it out and re knit a number of times! Big yarn helps the learning process,true. You are brave to jump into Magic Loop too! I salute you!
I always end up wrong. "Gusset" is my favorite cuss word!

BTW.... I am about to jump into a top down sweater that has L---o----n---g----floats in a 2 color stranded design.
Any0ne have a good tutorial for English knitting (yarn held in right hand)?
I have been browsing and trying out some videos while awaiting my yarn and this seems to be the closest for me to understand.
In the past I would 'make do' but never as neat on the WS like it should be.
Any PROVED favorite methods of yours would be appreciated.
