What a beautiful picture of Cadie. I am so sorry for your loss. I know how tough it can be, even more so perhaps when they are as old as Cadie. I just lost my 19+ yo, Feeby, 7 weeks ago, so I truly share your anguish. I am glad she went peacefully and that you were with her. It doesn't make her loss sting any less, but it can give you some comfort that she didn't suffer at the end and that the two of you could be together to share her final moments. RIP pretty little Cadie.

Thank you, I am really glad I was there with her. My cat Shine died at 24 and I was not there. It was easier but did not like it.

Nineteen! That is doing honor to your kitty indeed, although of course, we would all want them to live at least as long as we do. I am so sorry, she looks lovely in the photo. I am glad she didn’t suffer.

Rest you gentle, Cadie (and Shine), dream you deep. Your purrs echo in someone's heart forever.

Your love for Cadie shows in every word you write, and her age is a testament to that love, as well. But where there is love, an eternity is not long enough. One day, someday, you, Cadie and Shine will have your eternity. Until then, I will tell you the Deepest Truth I know. That love never dies. It is translated and purified into Love, and continues on. Now, from her home in That Place Where All Things Are Known, Cadie (and Shine, as well) sends her Love back to you, to walk beside you down through all of your days. Because Love abides. Always, forever, Love abides.

It was so nice you were there to give her comfort and love. She is at peace because she will always carry your love in her heart.
19 years! what a wonderful long life you gave her. I am sure it is because she was so cared for and loved. The bond of love is very strong, built up over all those years. She will always be near and parallel your life's journey. Love is spiritual, so eternal.
She would like for you to go forward into the future, seeking more love and the beauty of what life has to offer. Live like how you would wish for her to go on if you were the first to go. How do I know this? Because that is what love is and what it wants for all those left behind. she would want no less. Do not dwell on the past, none of us know the future. For right now just live in the present, one day at a time. Guilt always accompanies grief, none of us are perfect. There is always something we regret doing or not doing.
Each loss we encounter during our lives better prepares us for the next, but each and every one leaves us feeling empty and overpowered with sadness. As we get older ourselves we learn to accept death as a natural end to a life, as cats do. But it doesn't hurt any less.......
My heart goes out to you. One day you will be grateful for having her in your life as the grief heals in your broken heart, but that is a long time in the future. I will pray for all three of you. "Do not cry because it is over, smile because it happened.".........RIP dear Cadie. You will never be forgotten, you will always have a secure place in a loving heart. As you meet up with your beloved Shine, the good Lord will bless and keep you both until you all meet again!

What a wonderful cat Cadie was, indeed!
I'm so sorry for your loss, but it seems you are an exceptional parent to your cats, they will never forget you, they had the best family they could dream.
RIP Cadie, your dad loved you so much and he will miss you even more.
