I'm working on my next grocery list, and I see that Walmart has it. Has anyone had buttermilk pie? Is it an acquired taste? Is it good with whipped cream?

Buttermilk Pie

I don’t care for buttermilk, so I cannot say.
I haven't had it, hadn't heard of it so I looked up a recipe. The recipe looks like a recipe for custard pie using buttermilk instead of milk. It didn't have the nutmeg that usually goes in a custard pie. I assume the buttermilk would give it a tangy taste which would be different from a custard pie. It would depend on whether you like custard pie, I am not particularly fond of it.

I finally got one today and had a piece. It's so good, especially with whipped cream. The closest thing I can compare it to is creme brulee.
