Dear all,

We just found a piece of our 5 month old kitten’s canine tooth on her toys. The kitten appears to play and eat normally. There is also no bleeding. We believe this tooth falls off within 24hour.

However, with limited knowledge, we don’t know whether it is necessary to see the vet. I have attached the picture of her broken tooth.

Thank you.

Kittens starts teething from around 10 weeks to 6 months old. Just like our milk teeth, it needs to be replaced by a permanent 2nd set of teeth.
You will find a tooth or two laying around and in your case, on her toys. The rest could be deposited somewhere in the house and may have been swept away while cleaning and a few may have been swallowed down while eating. Maybe you'll notice that she is biting on more of her toys as a way to sooth the discomfort in her mouth.

By 7 months old, all her adult teeth will be in. So don't worry, your kitten is teething. Keep those precious little teeth for remembrance sake.
