Blood in cats stool

This is completely anecdotal and based on looking at the picture; however, black stool often really does look black if there is blood, not dark brown.

Isn’t the poop on the latest pics too dark? I’m getting so crazy now with her stool. Start to think now it’s black/blood in there.

Is the food she's eating now darker?

When my cat first started eating homemade meal, his pooped was a green-ish hue and it scared me... it turns out it was the zucchini lol. I notice it's slightly lighter when I feed him turkey, and a brown with a red-ish hue now that he eats duck and I cook it less, so the meat itself is much redder.

It’s called Feringa. Yes, it is darker than chicken or turkey. But it’s not as dark as the stool.

Latest pics look like soft stool like the new protein might be slightly irritating but the darker color looks more like what you're feeding. Rabbit was always darker than chicken/fish for the few days mine would even eat it at all.

Cats poop + blood

Bloody cat poop.

Can somebody advice me. We’ve found blood in our cat poop. Immediately took a sample and save it in the fridge. Next I gave my vet a call and described the situation. She want me to take 5 samples, every day and bring it to the lab then. So, we took those samples and sent to the lab. Result is: no parasites.
Need to say, that every day poop looks better and better. I mean, there is no mucus anymore, no constipation and almost no blood. At least no visible, only just a very little on the toilet paper but VERY little fresh, diluted blood (pinkish red). Once I found more like cherry colored stool.
Cat behaves perfectly normal. She eat, drink, play her fav toys, etc. She’s active as usual. I can’t see any difference with her behavior.
I’m sure, she didn’t eat anything.
I’m so stressed, she is so important to me. I’m super stressed and sad to lose her. It’s been already a week, sleepless week.
Can somebody have a look at the pictures (this are from two different days)?
The only changes I can actually see is how poop looks like. It’s not soft like it used to be and huge! Never seen this much big thing made by my cat.
Also, we are in contact with our vet and Monday she will have ultrasound and blood test. But until Monday I need to survive somehow.

I’ve had experienced the same with my cat a couple of months ago, but the bloody stool stopped naturally over time (about a week). Then there was normal stool for these months, and now the blood has returned. I’m super worried as I did for the first time, as I’ll be going out for a little family trip in a week. So we decided start her on antibiotic in hopes that she’ll heal more quickly. I’ll let you know how it goes. (Her stool is exactly like the first photo you posted).

Right, so we continue with diet + complementary feed. She’s much better now, but there are days with bloody stool. I don’t know why, usually when poop is harder. I mean, she is ok. I can’t see any issues with her and our problem last at least 6 weeks. As you probably know, we did all the test, stool even twice, ultrasound and all came back perfect. I think it’s caused by some delicate blood channel.
wieh you all the best. And it’s the same here, we have to be out for few days and I’m also going crazy to leave her alone.

I can’t get it guys. I’m loosing my mind and stress for 6-7 weeks now, 24/7 destroys me.
we did all the tests, was ok for almost 2 weeks and she started to have bloody stool again.
I made another appointment in another clinic, but I’m loosing hope. We will do again the same: ultrasound, blood, stool test. Again $700 and again I will hear ‚maybe this, maybe that’.
Additionally she doesn’t have appetite. We are fighting against her to eat. But she was always picky about food.

You might ask if the ultrasound, at least, can be transferred over to the new clinic to save you some money. They may want to run new blood work, or have a new stool test. Since her appetite is lagging now, I think that you are right to consult with another vet.

A lot of the skill with an ultrasound come with having a vet who really knows how to read them if they were done correctly the first time.

to be honest, I do not worry too much about her appetite as she has like that since I remember. She is super picky when it comes to the food.

Yes, quick update guys.
We have found the best radiologist and the best gastroenterologist around here. And we did all the test once again. Blood (morphology and biochemistry), stool, ultrasound, anal swab, organoleptic examination. All of them turned out: there is nothing to find fault with. Both docs says she is healthy.
I think it’s much less fresh blood. I mean it is rare now.
but as I check the stool everyday, I found today black spots. No fresh blood, but there was a little black spots on the toilet paper. Now I’m freaking out that she’s bleeding upper GI.
We even booked a behaviorist for Saturday, as all the test came back good, maybe it’s caused by stress.
We moved few months ago to the new apartment, we have 5 months old little one (she doesn’t like)…
I’ve started shoot blindly.
We spent like $2k, sleepless nights for 2 months now. It’s even harder with her, than with little one now.

Bloody stool was the first sign that our previous cat (who lived to be at least 16) had a digestive disorder, mostly likely IBD that may have morphed into lymphoma. She first had bloody stool when she was around 7 or 8; the vet said it was colitis. None of the vets at the clinic that she saw over the years thought there was anything serious happening. In a sense there wasn't: her symptoms were generally very minor (occasional bloody stool and vomiting), she ate well (too well!), and she was energetic and happy. But the disease progressed and she was never properly diagnosed because of her advanced age and other illnesses. Only in her last couple months did we (not the vet!) start to figure out what was happening, realizing that ingredients in the foods we were feeding almost certainly caused her digestive issues. We didn't know how to feed cats properly and she was getting lots of fish and carbs, among other things.

I know you've already tried some food trials but want to say that in our experience with Brooksie and, now, Edwina (who has a stomach/vomiting version of IBD, documented from biopsy during surgery) I'd strongly suggest feeding only foods with minimal ingredients: meat and necessary nutrients. You may already be doing that; these food trials can take time to show a real effect. (I noticed that you mentioned a lack of mucus: that sounds like good progress to me!) Edwina's biggest problem area is thickeners. And maybe fish and turkey. We avoid all of those and she gets nothing extra in any of her foods. That diet -- along with anti-inflammatory supplements, Cerenia as needed, and a calming supplement -- generally keep her feeling pretty good.

I mention all this because I wonder if the vets you've seen have discussed inflammation with you. Tamping down inflammation can involve removing ingredients that cause reactions as well as using probiotics, fish oil, and/or herbal or other remedies. Reducing stress can also be very helpful. I wish I'd known all this when Brooksie was younger but what I learned in her last months has helped us give Edwina a better chance at having fewer gut issues.

Fingers crossed that you'll be able to find something to help your cat more consistently!
