It happened tonight. I do not know where to put this. After feeding Smokey for over a year he RUBBED himself all over my legs. He would not let me pet him but he did not run away. He stepped back a couple of steps. I never was that close to him before.

It takes so long and we need such patience for these special babies no matter how long they have been alone or maybe just lost from a loving family...

Shelter adoption, gotcha day Nov 1 2016, he is about 3 yrs old, we are smitten with our new addition.
All the black cats I've known - including the one who currently calls me his human - seem to work overtime to dispel their 'reputation' - they've been the most good-natured animals I've known.
