What beautiful bird pictures! I was trying to get a picture of a cardinal that was just sitting on the feeder pole this morning but it was too far away to get a clear pic.

This little bird was flying around in my brother's house in Dominica. It finally landed on a ledge near the ceiling. I don't have any idea what kind of bird it is.

ETA: Thanks to maggie101 maggie101 for helping me identify it. This is the Purple Throated Carib Hummingbird.

We get Mountain Bluebirds which are really pretty

Thanks. I think it was the spread tail that threw me off. I did a little more searching of images and believe it's the Purple-Throated Carib Hummingbird. That would make sense because they are native to Dominica. An interesting sidenote: part of the island of Dominica belongs to the Carib people.
