I'm going to try the Authority. I really don't care to spend $20 just to ask a question of my vet. (I wanted to ask a ? when I took them in for shots, they wanted me to pay an exam fee to see the vet, on top of the shot fees... ummm, no... not for a simple question) Maybe someday I can afford a decent vet instead of a walk-in clinic...

Nutro Max and Authority are both great cat foods. I did a comparison at PetsMart.com and found out this:

Authority Lamb Meal & Rice Adult Formula

Top 10 Ingredients

Lamb Meal
Brewers Rice
Corn Gluten Meal
Wheat
Animal Fat (preserved with Vitamin E)
Animal Digest
Dried Egg Product
Dried Beet Pulp
Canola Oil
Corn Oil

Guaranteed Analysis
Protein 32.0%
Fat 16.0%
Fiber 3.0%
Moisture 10.0%

Nutro Max Cat Adult

Top 10 Ingredients

Chicken Meal
Corn Gluten Meal
Wheat Flour
Ground Rice
Poultry Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, a Source of Natural Vitamin E)
Ground Whole Wheat
Lamb Meal
Dried Egg Product
Natural Flavors
Brewers Dried Yeast

Guaranteed Analysis
Protein 32.0%

Fiber 3.0%
Moisture 10.0%

I also found out that for one 10lb cat, a 18lb bag of Authority would last you 18 weeks and a 20lb bag of Nutro Max would last you 19 weeks. In reality they are both the exact same thing. Authority is much cheaper and it tastes so good <-- I ate a piece!

I just switched my cats to Authority Lamb and Rice and the litter box has never been this unused. My 4 month old kitten hasn't used it in 3 hours and he ate his Authority wet and dry. Very good food!!
