Bathroom Issues

Hello

I adopted a three month ago male kitten (he's now five months).  He's an indoor cat only.  However, I have never inquired this problem before with male cats.  Right before he uses the little box, he will cry.  However, when he does his business, he doesn't cry.  What could be causing this issue?  Thank you in advance !

Is it a recent behavior? What do you feed him? It might be a mild case of constipation although your vet will confirm if it is.

He's been doing this since the day I brought him home.  He has a vet appointment Monday so we'll see what she says.  I feed him Science Diet kitten food and Sheba wet food.
