I don't necessarily think of it as baby talk but I do change the intonation of my voice when talking to Carleton. My husband, however, calls it baby talk.

I do my version of baby talk with my cat. Higher pitch, slow and exaggerated. I work with babies and made up words and too much goo-goo ga-ga just delays speech.

Yes , I do. I find myself saying things like "how's my little baby today , how's my little kitty? Are you hungry , wanna play with your new toy? Are you mommy's good boy?" Things like that.
My husband laughs at me when I actually ask our kitty what flavor cat food does he want and then I wait , like I expect my kitty to answer me. He does answer in a way , though , he keeps meowing back at me. At least , I know he listens. Silly me!
