For our August book, we’ve decided to go with another classic, as they’re free to read online, usually readily available to borrow at libraries, and pretty inexpensive to buy from Amazon.

However, since there’s so many to choose from, we decided we’d pick 2 from totally different genres, and have a poll.

The book that gets the most votes will be read in August.

Votes are anonymous, btw, so no one will know who voted, or which book they voted for.

The poll will run for 5 days, giving everyone time to vote, and then time to acquire the book by August.

We will be reading it between August 1st and August 21st.
Discussion will begin August 22nd

Everyone is invited to read along with us. Feel free to post any questions and/or comments below.

Here are the descriptions for the 2 books for anyone not already familiar with them.

Excellent !!! Hope you'll be able to join us in August.

Hope you'll consider reading it again with us, if it wins. And if not, maybe give Dracula a try.
I will if i can find a copy that's not too pricey. I saw that Amazon has a kindle edition for $0.23, but reviews say it is not a good copy.

With a vote of 6 to 4, Dracula is the winner, and is the book we'll be reading in August.

Reading time will be August 1st to August 21st.
And we'll discuss it / post our reviews beginning on August 22nd.

It can be downloaded for free from Project Gutenburg.
Dracula by Bram Stoker

If your library is associated with Hoopla, you might also be able to download the e-book there.

Thanks to everyone who voted. Hope regardless of which book you voted for, that you'll consider joining us in August, as we read this classic vampire book.

Not sure if Dracula had a cat or not.

I missed the vote, and I don't know which I would have voted for! I loved Jane Eyre. I have Dracula, someone left it in my Little Free Library and I brought it in intending to read it, but haven't yet.
So I would have been happy with either!
I plan on reading Dracula.
Love the "if Dracula had a cat..."

pearl99 pearl99 : since your reading time is limited these days, and you already have a copy of Dracula, you could start reading it now, so you'd have lots of time to finish it by August 22nd.

Mia6 Mia6 : so happy you're planning to join us this month. 🤗

As for Transylvania themed food, hope someone makes these.
