Hey y'all,
I've been on and off of this forum for several years and pulled up a few old topics on the subject of atopica, but Mikki just got back from a dermatologist (wish I could spend $300 on myself at a dermatologist haha), but she was perscribed Atopica for her back scabs for environmental allergies.
The vet's assistant thought she'd show us just how easy it is to shoot the syringe full of Atopica into Mikki's mouth....oh my... what a MESS let alone not an easy accomplishment for even the experienced assistant to hold Mikki still.
The vet suggested the different strageties such as strong tasting foods Mikki may let us sneak it into.. tomorrow we will be trying it but Mikki isn't easily fooled. Only hope, is we've not had her on ANY fish for 2 months, to test that allergy...so maybe she'll crave the fish and we can sneak it in that.
Any success stories of administering the liquid? I told hubby, if it's as bad of an experience giving it to her as it was at the vet's office... we may eventually weigh what's worse? Having her spit and throw up every day going through that ordeal...or a few scabs on her back that she's been living with!
