I fully acknowledge that this may sound crazy, but none of you told me I'd lost it the las5t time something like this happenned, so...

Tomorrow is the anniversary of my
Cotton’s passing.

Today, two years ago, was the day my big buddy rallied one last time and had his last ‘normal’ day. After a long illness, he suddenly seemed to revive and go about doing all the things he regularly did, just like normal, before he passed.

This morning I was woken up in the dark by a cat climbing on to my pillow and laying down above my head. I sighed, wondering who picked that trick up since none of my cats since Cotton has done it (he used to sleep on my head constantly). When I put a hand up, all I found was empty pillow and the feeling of a cat was gone. Weird, but I was only half awake, so I put my hand back down and clearly felt/heard a cat walk up the edge of the bed, step onto my night table and drink my leftover water (something else my big buddy always used to do), then step onto my pillow and walk across it to lay on my head. This time I tried not to move too much, but looked around and I could clearly see Sybil sitting in the window, Wendel on Mike’s feet and feel Freya tucked behind my knees...and there was still a cat on my head, who had started to purr in a quiet rumble.

Since I’ve seen Cotton a few times since his passing, I figured it must be him  deciding to have another “normal” moment, so I told him it was too early and I wasn’t getting up yet, then went back to sleep with what very well may have been a ghost cat on my head.

(((((((((((((BIG-HUGS)))))))))

I-haven't-been-on,much,because-my-space-bar-does-not-work,and-its-a-major-pain-to-type-like-this,but-for-you,I-will,lol.

My-boy,my-bestest-buddy-had-to-be-put-down-in-the-ER-on-Friday-April-the-13th-at-11AM.There-was-just-nothing-more-they-could-do-for-him,he-was-only-5-yrs-old,HCM-took-him.

Since-then-I-have-seen-him-4-times,crystal-clear-as-day,just-as-I-see-the-other-kitties,and-I-petted-him-1-time.It-was-not-a-ghost,it-was-him,in-person-in-living-color.

So,no,you-are-not-losing-it,and,the-others-will-share-their-stories-too.

I-could-not-get-that-awful-memory-out-of-my-head,his-last-moments-and-I-could-not-hand-him-back-to-the-ER-dr,actually,they-called-in-2-specialists-for-him,and-they-were-waiting-for-him,when-I-called.

I-believe-he-came-back-to-me-to-give-me-comfort,to-tell-me,he-was-OK,and-let-that-be-my-memory-of-him.When-I-brought-his-carrier-back-home,the-kittens-just-sat-in-front-of-it,and-stared-inside-of-it.They-knew.

Our loved ones never really leave us.

The day we buried my sweet Wilda, I kept seeing her out of the corner of my eye, like she was still hanging out in her favorite places. Twice while I was standing by the back door, looking out into the yard, I felt her give me a leg-hug. Each time I thought that it was weird that my husband's cat would do that (he never did that), but it wasn't him. Both times I could still feel the furry hug on my leg even when I looked down.

I'm so happy you had a beautiful visit with Cotton. Love is always stronger than death.

I absolutely believe you!!!  I'm so glad that Cotton came back to visit you and sleep on your head!!!

I've had visits from my Chynna, but not for some months now.  She was my pillow buddy! She loved to sleep on the pillow on the right side of me. I would lay on my right side with my right arm bent up and laying on her pillow.  She would put her paws in my hand and with the same hand I used to give her paw massages and at the same time scritch under her chin. She would open and close her toes and lick my hand and we would drift off to sleep like that.  It was 3 years this past July that she left me.  And over that time she has visited me several times.  But the last time was when I was still in my old apartment sometime last winter.  I do miss her visits. Gosh, I'm tearing up just thinking about it!

Awwwww, I'm sure it was Cotton, definitely! I have had so many moments where I felt Candy sleeping above my head, and I look and no one is there...I just think of it as a sign that she's watching over me. :rbheart:

We sometimes hear our Deli
walking around or lapping water when there are no cats in sight.
