Allergies!

For thirteen years, we had an orange Tabby. He passed away when our child was two years old. Now we want another kitten, but our child seems to be allergic to cats now. What breed is the best for people with allergies? Some say Siamese...is that true? Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

I moved this to the breeders section. Breeders can usually tell you a little more on the allergy issue. Check out this discussion from ahwile ago. I think it goes over all the options.
