Hi all. I have a 3 year old cat who was behaved well until her sister had kittens. She would try to attack the kittens so we had to hide them. Then she started attacking her sister. They are mainly outdoor cats. She would attack either whenever she had the chance. Then she had 1 kitten of her own. Both of them have been spayed. Her daughter is grown now and she will attack whenever she has the chance. We try to catch her doing it to stop her. Is this normal behavior? Her daughter is constantly on edge as to when she is going to jump her. They get into pretty bad fights, but only because of the Mom.

When was the last time she was at a vet? Sounds like it could be a health issue.

Last month. The problem was going on before the visit.

Did the vet do bloodwork etc at the visit? There's a few health conditions that can cause major behavioural changes.

The other thing is, as outdoor cats they can have deferred aggression because other cats are coming around or aggression over resources. The new kittens might have made her feel her resources were at risk.

Yes blood work was fine. We got rid of the kittens 2 years ago now. She has her own insulated bed in a cat house my husband built...in heated garage and they have separate food and water bowls.
