My cat was in labor, and 22 hours ago she delivered her second and I believe to be last kitten. Recently she began spotting with red/clear liquid. It's not flowing and its dripping every so often. Is this normal?
Turns out it was 24 hour long interrupted labor. She had a stillborn kitten. But the other 2 are alright. The Mom seems somewhat depressed though.syd1240
Yes, cats will experience post-partum spotting for a week or so after delivering. It's normal and should get lighter as the days go by, then stop. A heavy flow of bright red blood is cause for concern though.
There's not really any changes, and she's taking care of the kittens, nursing them, cleaning them. We don't know their weight as we don't have a scale at home. She started having some more contractions this morning and the red liquid came out again, but there's been no kitten. So you must look out, there may be problems! Be vigilant!
Is she taking care of the kittens as she should? Do you know their weight, so you can follow the development, and notice any alarming changes?

As of late there's been no contractions and no more vaginal discharge. She's been moving around, eating, using the litter box, and nursing her kittens. Although, she did seem to eat a little less today. It may be after pains, which is the uterus contracting to expel leftover matter and to begin shrinking back to normal size.
