I have 3 kids in school and I work full time but we have recently decided to adopt a feral cat that is actually really friendly and has already started bonding with my kids. I need tips for introducing a 6 month old feral cat to a litter box and whether or not to crate the cat while working all day etc. It has been many years since we have had a cat and we want to start off with success. My mother lives with us also she is in her 60's and capable of helping with the cat during the day. I read online that some people suggest keeping the cat in 1 room until it adapts? What about at night time?

My feral cat took to unscented clumping cat litter no problem. I didn't research to use soil first. He really hated when I tried one with a scent though and would not use it.

There isa "Cat Attract " litter brand, I believe. You put that on top of the unseated litter. But most cats take to using a litter box with no problems.
