hello!
I am new to this forum and I am interested in taking up a position in animal control. I am 16 years old and I was wondering what steps do I need to take to become an animal control officer, like what schools do I need to look into attending. what are the pre-requisets (spelt wrong I know) or things you need to do to before getting hired. Also what does it pay? I have heard that you can't make that great of money being an ACO, I am in California money isn't important to me but it is something I need to consider considering how expensive california is becoming to survive in. anyhow any information would be appreciated thanks!

More training information and job postings are available at www.nacanet.org the National Animal Control Association website. California does pay somewhat better although it is still low compared to other jobs. My new Senior ACO came from LA City Animal Control. Send me an email and I will give you some more pointers.
